ITINERARY

DAY 1: ERRACHIDIA AIRPORT AND DRIVE TO MERZOUGA – CAMEL TREK AND NIGHT IN DESERT

Our representative will meet you at Errachidia airport and drive you south to the Sahara Desert, passing through the kasbahs and palm oases of the Tafilalet region. This is one of Morocco´s main date producing areas and harvesting takes place in October and November. Once you start to see the golden dunes, you will soon arrive in Merzouga. Your 4 legged transport will be waiting to take you across the dunes to your camp for the night under the stars. Dinner and music around the campfire will be provided and an unforgettable memory to take away with you.

DAY 2: MERZOUGA – RISSANI – ERFOUD – ERRACHIDIA AIRPORT

The best part of the day is often the sunrise; one of the camp team will make sure you don´t miss it with an early wake up call. Once you have taken breakfast, you will ride the camel’s back to meet your driver. On your return journey to Errachidia, you will visit the market town of Rissani; last outpost for getting supplies for the desert. It has a colourful market and a local delicious dish called Medfouna; a pizza type bread stuffed with meat and is very tasty. The next interesting stop will be in Erfoud; home of the fossil and mineral workshops. Here you can see millions of years old fossils found locally and how they are cleaned and polished, made into many items of use around the home and of course the minerals are quite magnificent. You might even see real dinosaur bones. The driver will drop you off either at your hotel, or the airport.
